While systems marketed as “salt-water” systems are popular, they can produce unwanted side effects like high chlorine levels and corrosion. Instead, you may want to consider more advanced oxidation systems like our top-of-the-line Premium AOP by Clear Comfort. The Clear Comfort Premium AOP system, used in conjunction with low level FROG @ease or granular chlorine sanitizers, is the best option for keeping your water clean and clear, reducing maintenance time and costs, while allowing for much lower levels of chemicals, often lower than drinking water. Other oxidation systems, like ozone, also help maintain optimal water quality and also help ensure a more enjoyable hot tub experience with minimal maintenance time.
Hot tub shells can be made from materials like acrylic, vinyl, or rotomolded plastic. Each material has its own benefits, with acrylic being highly durable and attractive, but somewhat heavy, vinyl being lightweight but less durable, and rotomolded plastics like polyethylene (HDPE) and polypropylene (PP) offer lower costs but a less attractive finish. Bullfrog Spas® uses shells made of a premium acrylic.
Full foam insulation helps retain heat in the hot tub, eliminating air flow and voids that can fill with cold air, increasing energy efficiency, and reducing operating costs over time. It’s a much better option than perimeter insulation systems. In addition to the great efficiency benefits inherent in the JetPak Therapy System design, the Bullfrog Spas® insulation design also includes full foam insulation for energy efficiency, as well as strength and performance for your spa.
