Bullfrog Spas and Hot Tubs Newsletter - October 07

Welcome,
Welcome to October. We hope you have been enjoying the fall season so far and that you have taken the opportunity to spend some time in your hot tub. The cool crisp nights are perfect to spend relaxing in your backyard.
In this issue we will highlight another JetPak of the Month and go over how to properly “Winterize” your spa. If you have questions or concerns that you would like to see featured in future editions, please let us know at newsletter@bullfrogspas.com.
JetPak® of the Month
This month’s featured JetPak is the RainShower. The RainShower offers all-over hydrotherapy with a soothing flow of water that surrounds your entire back. Its delicate massaging streams melt your stress away. The RainShower is a great relaxation tool. The small pinhole jets are a favorite for many Bullfrog owners, including many people here at our factory. Furthermore, because of the way JetPaks are built, this type of jet can only be found on a Bullfrog Spa.
Dee, a Bullfrog customer from Tennessee, had this to say about one of her family’s favorite JetPaks:
“My husband Tim and I have had our Bullfrog for 9 months. We looked at spas on and off for a couple of years, getting confused and frustrated with the 100's of similar spas we kept encountering, then by a fluke we visited a pool company in Knoxville that we passed by on our trek to find the perfect hot tub. We prepared ourselves for the usual salesperson spiel and he introduced us to the Bullfrog Spa. He was real low key trying to explain the uniqueness of this brand and gave us the DVD to watch at home. We called back the next day and bought the spa! We finally had found what we didn't know we were looking for!
Our favorite JetPak is the RainShower. We love all 5 JetPaks in the tub but it does the trick for our tired backs. We are in the spa nearly every day. We are in our 50's, own two retail businesses in a popular tourist area and put in long hours. I am enjoying the newsletter and hope to purchase a new JetPak with the coupon; so far we have all the JetPaks you have featured. Thanks!” - Dee
For 20% off the purchase of the RainShower, take the coupon at the bottom of the page into your local Bullfrog Spas dealer and have them help you configure your spa to include the RainShower JetPak.

Hot Tub Care
Bullfrog is Built for Winter
Many people enjoy using their spas during the winter months. In fact, winter is the best time of year to enjoy a spa according to many spa owners. The cold air in contrast with the hot water can make for a very relaxing experience. For this reason, we’ve designed our spas in such a way that they can be used year round. Full foam insulation, energy efficient plumbing and a tight fitting cover mean that your spa will stay nice and toasty as the mercury drops outside.
Winter, however does mean that some of us will be putting our spas away until spring. If this is your plan, we recommend that you winterize your spa so that it stays protected while not being used. To winterize your spa, we recommend the following steps:
Step 1: Super sanitize your spa water. Super sanitization will help prevent algae or bacteria from growing in any leftover water while the spa is not in use. Refer to the water chemistry page for any questions on super sanitization.
Step 2: Drain the water.
Step 3: Remove the drain plug from the pump(s), loosen all PVC pipe unions, and pump air-bleed valves in the equipment compartment. Do not replace the plugs, tighten the unions or close the air-bleed valves until the spa is de-winterized.
Step 4: Remove the filter cartridge(s) and clean them off. Allow them to dry completely. Store them in a dry place.
Step 5: To avoid water from becoming trapped between the floor suction fitting and the filter pipe, close the slice valve in front of the pump leading to the filter. Use a wet/dry vacuum to remove the remaining water out of the pipe by placing the vacuum end over the filter hole. In a two-pump spa, first plug off one filter hole then vacuum out the water. An alternative option would be to pour 1-2 gallons (4.55-9.09l) of RV antifreeze into the filter hole to keep any remaining water from freezing and therefore damaging the plumbing of your spa. RV antifreeze is nontoxic and will not harm you or your spa.
Step 6: Clean the entire spa.
Step 7: Secure the cover to the spa utilizing the tie downs and locking system. In areas where heavy snow is anticipated, place a large piece of plywood (or its equivalent) on top of the spa cover to assist in supporting the cover with the added weight of the snow. Remove snow off the cover following each snow storm.
De-Winterization:To de-winterize the spa, simply reverse the Winterization procedure and then refill your spa. Make sure that once you have refilled your spa to super sanitize your new spa water.
