Bullfrog Spas Helps Thaw Polar Plungers

Hi-Tech Hot Tub Company Helps Thaw Frozen Swimmers

Bullfrog Spas provides hot tub to help swimmers warm up during the Polar Plunge, a benefit for the Special Olympics.

couple thaws in hottubSalt Lake City, UT – Bullfrog International, manufacturers of innovative hot tubs, was proud to sponsor the 2011 Polar Plunge on Saturday February 12. The event encourages brave swimmers to leap into icy waters for charity and was held at Pelican Bay Marina in Saratoga Springs, Utah. The Polar Plunge is put on by the Saratoga Springs Police Department to raise money for Utah Special Olympics.

Bullfrog Spas provided a working Model 662 hottub heated to around 100° F to help participants warm up after their brave swim. As one can imagine, the warm portable spa was an especially welcomed addition to the event.

Incredible Hulk couple jumps in lake then hot tubBoth individual participants and teams worked to gather pledged donations in support of their willingness to jump into a frigid lake. The event helped to raise thousands of dollars to benefit the Special Olympics of Utah. Lyn Rees, of Utah Special Olympics, commented to local media, “It is a unique opportunity for individuals, organizations, and businesses to support local Special Olympics athletes by jumping or slowly crawling into the frigid, icy waters.”

The theme of the event was “We’re freezin’ for a reason!” and the smiles everywhere showed that this was a fun event and a great cause. Local eateries donated donuts and hot dogs to both jumpers and participants and a local coffee shop donated free, and much needed, hot coffee and hot chocolate.

One of the favorite features of the event was the costume contest. Teams and individuals donned attire ranging from classics like the Wizard of Oz and Incredible Hulk to some futuristic costumes from the movie “Despicable Me.”

Chain saws and a backhoe were necessary to create an opening in the ice and safety divers had to periodically toss ice chunks off to the sides to maintain open water. This was Bullfrog’s second year sponsoring the event and the Bullfrog Spas Model 662 was a great hit once again. This 6-person hot tub was often overfilled with appreciative swimmers needing a warm-up after their swim.

5 Compelling Ways a Hot Tub Can Help With Your New Year’s Resolutions

Hot Tubs Help Millions Achieve Their Health Goals for 2011

Scientific studies by health experts indicate several key areas where hot tubs and hydrotherapy can help people to reach their goal of improved health and wellness.

Salt Lake City, Utah, December 28, 2010 – The goal of improved health is the most common of all New Year’s resolutions. With 2011 fast approaching, millions of people are vowing to improve their health but secretly worrying about how they will do it.

Scientific studies by the National Aquatics and Sports Medicine Institute, located at Washington State University, and others are showing remarkable health benefits associated with warm water hydrotherapy in hot tubs. Bullfrog International LC, manufacturers of innovative hot tubs with the patented JetPak System of spa jets, has released a list of 5 ways hot tub therapy can help individuals improve their health this year.*

            1.    Hot tubs can lower blood pressure. In studies performed by the National Aquatics and Sports Medicine Institute subjects experienced decreased blood pressure when immersed in water of all temperatures. However, the effect of lowered blood pressure was shown to last much longer for those who soaked in a hot tub.

            2.    Hot tubs improve heart and circulatory health. Water immersion helps the circulatory system to operate more efficiently. This effect can be beneficial to all people and is especially helpful to individuals who experience decreased circulation due to diabetes and other ailments.**

            3.    Hot tubs improve joint health. Spending time in a hot tub can decrease pain and help improve flexibility by decreasing the effects of gravity, increasing blood flow, and by lessening the pull of tight muscles on sore joints.

            4.    Hot tubs improve muscle health. Soaking in a hot tub loosens stiff muscles and reduces soreness. The increased blood flow to the muscles, experienced while in a hot tub, also aids in healing after injuries and recovery after intense workouts.

            5.    Hot tubs improve nervous system health. One of the reasons hot tubs feel so relaxing is because they actually balance the opposing functions within the nervous system – the sympathetic and parasympathetic systems. Hot water therapy reduces the effect of the sympathetic nervous system, which is the major cause of harmful stress. The positive effects of hot water therapy on the nervous system have actually been observed long after the individual actually leaves the water, showing that hot tubs help produce long term benefits that include lowered stress, relaxation, and a sense of well being.

Additional hot tub health benefits continue to come to light as physicians and scientists, especially in the area of Sports Medicine, perform studies on hot tub therapy. Individuals interested in the health applications of hydrotherapy can keep up to date by following the National Aquatics and Sports Medicine Institute (NASMI) along with hot tub health updates posted by Bullfrog Spas on their hot tub blog.

The science seems to show that a hot tub is likely to be one of the best investments that an individual can make in achieving their goals of health, wellness, and overall happiness for 2011.

To learn more about hot tub hydrotherapy and the health and wellness benefits a hot tub can provide contact Bullfrog Spas today.

*Information regarding health benefits of hot tubs is collected from studies performed, cited, and reported on by the National Aquatics and Sports Medicine Institute.
**Always consult a physician before using a hot tub, especially if you have any of the following: high blood pressure, a heart or lung condition, are or may be pregnant, have diabetes or if you experience any other serious health condition.

Bullfrog International is happy to have the opportunity to donate at cost a top of the line Bullfrog Spa to aid in fund raising efforts for Primary Children’s Medical Center, a Salt Lake City children’s hospital serving children with severe illness and acute medical needs.

The impressive Model 682 Bullfrog Spa, Bullfrog’s largest spa model which seats up to 8 adults and retails for close to $11,000, will be on display at a charity golf tournament from July 29-31, 2010. The fund raising auction will be on July 30 at the Homestead Resort in Midway, Utah where the tournament will be held. Bullfrog Donates Hot Tub to Humanitarian Effort

Another Reason to Buy a Hot Tub: Bullfrog Donates Spa to Humanitarian Effort

Bullfrog International, manufacturer of advanced hot tubs, recently donated a Model 362 portable spa to the Eagle Condor Humanitarian foundation to benefit several impoverished villages in Northern Peru.

(Vocus/PRWEB )  — Bullfrog International LC, manufacturers of Bullfrog Spas with JetPaks, recently donated a Model 362 portable hot tub for auction at a fundraising event for Eagle Condor Humanitarian.

Hot Tub Helps Children in Northern Peru

The Eagle Condor mission statement reads: “Enriching lives, empowering people while building self-reliance.” The group provides aid, micro loans, and continuing education for people in the villages of Northern Peru. Unfortunately the impact of the economy on family budgets in wealthier nations can have a ripple effect that reaches to areas of the world that rely on outside help. Charity Navigator reports: “The data for 2008 showed the largest drop in private contributions in the 53 years it has been tracked.”* Charities like Eagle Condor know that it is even more important than ever to have corporate fundraising help these days.

Bullfrog Spas Director of Sales and Marketing, Jaden Kemp, commented, “Bullfrog is happy to do what we can with great organizations like Eagle Condor to benefit people in impoverished areas.” Kemp continues, “The good thing about a program like this is that, even though someone gets a really nice spa for their donation, that money that they donated really goes a long way in places where a dollar or two may be a full day’s income.”

The Eagle Condor website describes the economic situation in places where they provide aid:

Eagle Condor works in Northern Peru in the cities of Chiclayo, Piura and Trujillo. The unemployment rate unfortunately reaches more than 60% in this area. Sixty-four percent of the families in Lambayeque department are categorized as the poorest of the poor (living on less than $1 per person per day). There are few programs in the north area to help small businesses to develop and grow. Countless families survive on a budget of $US 30.00 a month. Many families live outside Chiclayo in sandy desert areas without water, sewer systems and sometimes electricity. Those that have employment are often underpaid; have to work long hours and more than five day a week including holidays and Sundays to keep their jobs. The migration to other countries or to Lima is high, not always solving their problems.

The money raised by Eagle Condor is used to build schools, provide vocational training, improve sanitation, build needed community and private facilities, and also to fund micro loans that help people build small businesses to support their families.

One recipient of a micro loan used it to build a small restaurant business at her home. The Eagle Condor website reports that Maria is very grateful to Eagle Condor for the training and loan that she received. She says, “Before, my life was a disaster economically. Now, I have independence. . . The loans are helping us achieve success.”

Bullfrog International and Eagle Condor would like to thank those that contribute to this worthy cause. The family that purchased the Bullfrog Model 362 hot tub in the charity auction reports that they are enjoying the many benefits of the JetPak System in their Bullfrog Spa, including decreased stress, better overall health, and quality time they spend together.
